    uhhhhhhhh.....huh huh huh........

Well, I guess the best thing to say is that there are many uses for this. (Improved mood, elevated energy levels, joint recuperation, "cosmetic reasons",et al.)

What are you looking to get out of it?

Mostly muscle tone. I've always been very toned all my life then after being ill for a time, I'm having trouble getting it back to where I was. I didn't lose all of it, but man is it challenging getting back in shape if you lose any time off after those 40s hit. I also don't want any weakness in my muscle left over from the damage the antibiotics did when I get back to my season. I'm lifting daily, walking (very fast) daily etc. I need to know if HGH will help this?

    Thanks

    Insert from ARTICLE:
What does the research say? Giving HGH to healthy older adults does indeed increase muscle mass and decrease body fat. But claims for other benefits of HGH replacement in the elderly, such as greater strength and better mental function, have not been proven. Giving HGH to older adults has also been associated with side effects like joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fluid retention, and abnormal glucose metabolism.

Thanks Cybergal. I've been reading up on it at several different sites but they mostly lead to product sales. My doctor mentioned putting me on it too so trying to learn as much as possible. The site you put down gives more info on the down side too.

Okay, well I'm no doctor. And there are quite a few "studies" and opinions out there. All I can do is relay some personal experience and that of some others I know....

If your doc is willing to let you give it a go, definitely go for it. (I would suggest 1 IU a day injected sub q, but go with whatever he says). You may also have your testosterone levels checked (total and free levels). Because HGH works very well with a bit of test thrown in.

The main downside to all of this is that your insurance will probably not cover any of this. Many doctors are hesitant to even run the required blood work, as they are as susceptible to the media's scare tactics as everyone else who is not "personally in-the-know". And he may not know how to interpret the results anyway!

Anti-aging clinics are another option. They deal with your specific situation daily, and are able to help. (Research the one you go with thoroughly, because if one all of a sudden shuts down or transfers ownership, you may be left out to dry with no more scripts for several weeks---ask me how I know!! VERY unpleasant).

    Anyway, I hope this helps....

Thanks Goat. I am thinking of giving it a try anyways. I do have a doctor that works outside the box so to speak. He's tried me on DHEA, my levels were very low, my testosterone is pretty level and am on natural cortisol. I'm trying very hard to get back in/stay in shape. (I dont want to fall apart just when I'm starting to be the only breadwinner here in my home, and with my season of driving until son and I go O/O I do a ton of manual labor in between loads etc.) So, since most of the stuff I take isn't covered by insurance (thankfully it did cover the bloodwork) approximately how much does HGH run?

Sounds like you're a great candidate for this! I'll have to pull my paperwork out of the file to give you an idea of cost when I get home...give me a day or so.

But from what I remember, I think the HGH + "a bit" of test was roughly $6K/year....Which is not bad considering the benefits.

I would also like to suggest that you have regular bloodwork (every 3 months) or even more, if your doc suggests, just to remain proactive about your health. Give it about 6 months or so, and you'll feel at least 10 years younger! I predict that in 20 years EVERYONE will be aware of the benefits....(if used responsibly).

Sounds good. I know he'll keep up labwork. He's very thorough about that part of it. What about the HGH online until I get back to work? Is it any good. I know I've done both prescription DHEA and over the counter at health food stores and my labs came back the same after trying both. Wow, you're a wealth of information. It's nice to talk to someone who's into all this stuff too lol.
