I am looking for a new bluetooth for my phone. I want to know whats everyones opinion on the best ones out there that are NOT a headset. I want one that just goes in your ear not over your whole head like headphones. Thanks

Hands down the best Blue tooth out there is the Bose. At $149 it may be pricey for some, but you will not get a better ear piece. They just made a second generation. It fits just inside the ear and has the necessary volume. I have less than optimal hearing and have no problem with volume. It is noise canceling and filters out the ambient noise so those you are talking to hear you, not the bs around you. I have people tell me my call sounds much more crisp and clear when on my Bose as opposed to using the phone alone.

And here's a little story about Bose. I bought my Bose Bluetooth on January 5th of this year. It gets used A LOT. Got to the point even around home I used it as opposed to the phone. Well, after 10 months the volume starts to dim and I start to have connecting issues. Then one day the speaker housing came apart at the seam. I had registered the product on the Bose website and went to the website and sent a message to them explaining what happened. They sent me a repair/replacement number and had me send all parts that came with it in the original package back to them. They are sending me a BRAND NEW, not refurbished, Bluetooth at no cost and with a new 1 year warranty from the date of replacement.

Meh, Blue Parrot may be good if you want to look like an air traffic controller and you like big heavy things hanging off your head. But as for your assertion that Bose won't "cut it" when it comes to volume, you obviously have no experience with Bose and their superior R&D when it comes to acoustics. And to say no brand has the volume to drown out the engine/jake noise, I say you are wrong. I love the people who do not want to pay for quality and then say it can't happen when they have no personal experience.

To the OP. The Blue Parrot may be good for some. But like I said before, I don't care for a heavy piece of electronic strapped over my head and looking like a fool in the truck stop. But if you want a smaller, high quality, inconspicuous bluetooth, spend the extra few dollars and get the Bose.

I'll have to agree with biscuit75, like I poted before, the pantronxic does a very good job, never hear engine or jake noise, plenty of volume

Here's a thought...remove the BT before you get out of the truck. I think it looks just as foolish to walk around with an ear bud growing out of your ear as it does to walk around with a full-on headset. Believe it or not, the phone WILL work without the headset when you are not in the truck and driving....and holding the phone to your ear reminds you that you ARE on the phone, and that others around you probably don't want to have to listen to you talk on the phone...so be courteous, keep necessary conversations short, or take them outside. You look ridiculous walking around the store talking to yourself.

I will look into the bose. I have 2 jawbones in the truck and they work GREAT!! Only problem I have is for some reason when I get out of the truck the jawbone usually disconects. Yesterday I was closing my doors and had the phone in my hand near my mouth like I would if I was talking on speaker and the Jawbone kept disconecting from the phone. When it stays connected it works great. I have been fueling before with the reefer runing on my trailer and the person I was talking to could hear me fine and I could hear them. Just the connecting issue is my biggest problem.

I have a plantronics. It's not the smallest thing in the world, but it offers 6 hours of talk time. It has plenty of volume IMO and my hearing certainly isn't what it used to be.

The noise cancellation seems to work pretty well according to folks that I have asked when I'm on the phone with them.

The model that I have is so comfortable that I sometimes forget I'm even wearing the thing.

Plantronics Voyager Pro, I have had mine for over a year with no problems. Long talk time, fairly short recharge time.
