While the broker was less than helpfull, the real a-hole here is the dispatcher. Never should have taken the load. Next in line is the driver. Never should have accepted the load.
Gotta go for now. Coming to a turn and it is hard to shift, turn a wheel and work the computer at the same time.

Hey Brickman.. I am BigBadBill's wife, Lauren and I just recently joined this forum. I have to say that I totally agree with you on the anti-idle laws that people who do not truck are trying to push through. On the other hand, we were driving through Central Illinois today and pulled into a rest stop because there was an accident on the I-74. I cannot tell you how many trucks had pulled over and were idling in NICE weather. Sometimes, I think, truckers are their own worst enemy. We can be as gentle as we can be to the environment... and sensitive to the needs of our planet while still not roasting in Arizona or Texas (or even Illinois) in the summer, or freezing in the winter. Wouldn't you agree?

... and sorry, I know this is off topic, but I was reading the very first posts of this thread, and sometimes, I just can't help myself.

Boy's I am an independent also and I use brokers and from what I have read some of you guys need to learn how to negotiate, then you also need to learn(kiss my grits). I have hauled for c.h.robum and I have gotten 2.00 a mile but I negotiate with them. I negotiate with all of them constantly.
6wheeler Thanks this. -
Well not all of us use just CH. I go with any broker that can pay on time and provide a fuel advance when needed. Also it depends what your hauling, reefer or van?

can sumone please list any good brokers they kno about

I get really good rates and quick pay from Mercer trans.
I like them so much, If I give up my authority I'll sign on with them.
Also have done pretty well with Bennet and Jone Motor.
Had bad luck with JW Jones out of Indiana. They are a shipper brokering their own.MB_Guru, volvodriver01 and BigBadBill Thank this. -

Well I have started to steer away from TQL several times I have called on loads to find out pickup and delivery locations was way off. Like the last time I called on a load from Charlotte, NC to Richmond, VA well the load was no where near Charlotte it was down below Columbia, SC and it didnt go to Richmond but it did go close. They will post 4 loads from and to different places but they all will be the same load this is a straight up waste of time. They will tell you that everyone dont know where Pelison, SC is well I know how to google and I could understand if it was 10-15 miles off but 118 thats just plain uncalled for this tactic of just getting drivers to call will cost them
BigBadBill and RedForeman Thank this.
