All of these companies have to abide by what insurance companies tell them to abide by. Just because one company says "no problem", doesn't mean that will be the case once you show up for orientation. That is when the "surprises" come up and you could find yourself buying a bus ticket home.

Get the ticket taken care of. Truth be told, I don't think it will be a big deal, either way, once it is all said and done. As it stand now though, it is "pending", which doesn't look good to companies hiring a driver.

Go to court, talk to the judge, explain the situation. I would bet that it gets probated, meaning it isn't on your record. Then, tell whatever company you go to exactly what happened, and the result of your court appearance.

Ok for the record there is nothing on my record at all. The whole reckless thing is on the ticket but not on my record because I have never been convicted. They could pull reports all they want and won't find that on my MVR. When I do go the solicitors office then it will show up as whatever it gets pleaded to speeding ticket is what it they are saying. If I get this in writing from someone there at Maverick that they know about the issue would that be ok or still a no go?

I'm willing to wager a bet on this, if you do happen to come back with a wreckless conviction on your record. I'll bet they won't keep you. If you come back with it dropped or lowered down to a lesser offense then they'll keep you.

Me I would make 100% it was not on there before I left to go to school. Because even if you get the school through Maverick and they don't hire you, but you go ahead and pay, chances are you'll be holding a certificate that can't get you a job anywhere. I know so vividly about this because I'm waiting on my son to go to CDL school after his wreckless drops off next month. Been there done that or I should say going through it!

With insurance companies it really is tough when you have a wreckless on there.

Please let me say that I commend you for doing what you did and I hope I would react the same way if I ever came upon that same scenario.

What ever happens Good Luck and Safe Driving!

Thank you. I will check IF I go to there school to make sure it is not on there. I will say I contacted my friend with the PD and he told me with no question it will not show up on my MVR till I am convicted of anything. I also spoke to a lawyer today who deals with tickets and they said that I have done everything right and if I hired them the only thing they would do is go to the solicitors office with me to get it either washed away or pleaded down. Please understand that I do listen to the advise I am getting here. Knowing that they can't put it on my record if I am not convicted and knowing that the solicitor is going to reduce it or at worse I go to trial and I don't see any way in this world that a jury will uphold the ticket. Not to mention Maverick is only a 6 month commitment. The way I see it is this. I go there to school sometime in the next 6 months I get a call to go to the solicitors office and they say they won't do anything then I continue on with the jury trial and we are at least one year away form that. Also I have the info right here that says by law you have to tell a employer within 30 days of a CONVICTION of a traffic offense. I don't ever want to be dishonest but If i had never told them about this issue they would never know until I was ever convicted of something.

Almost all aplications ask about "pending" matters, so you will need to disclose it in most cases. I'm glad you're retaining a lawyer. I know very little about SC law, but ask your lawyer if they offer Pre-Trial Deferments. If you get one of those, however, you MUST keep it clean for whatever period they leave it open and may need to disclose it to employers.

I feel for you, my son has feberal seizures, so I know how scary this is. If that cop had been there in the beginning for that kid, he wouldn't be so hard about it being a non-life threatening case. Seizures are nothing to push under the rug, they can be very serious. I feel for you, and hope everything works out - Best of Luck!

Thank you. The trooper says that you can not die from a seizure so I over reacted and acted on emotions.

I am kind of torn on the issue. My youngest has had seizures from almost birth. The first one is always the worst. After a while and through doing a lot of research, we have become used to them as a parent can. While scary and all that, it doesn't give you any more right than anyone else to endanger others by driving like a maniac. The tickets were deserved, warnings and a butt chewing would have probably been better.

^ Well in one way I agree with you. I will say this in my defense. Number one it was not my kid and I had NO clue if he was going to die or not (first time I have ever seen this happen). Number 2 I was "safe" as I drove 1.9 miles. I went thru the intersections slow and looked both ways and honked my horn the whole way. I didn't just blindly fly down the rd. The rd was a four lane highway. The cop told me that he also gives tickets all the time to people that are following an ambulance because a loved one is in there. I do wonder if I had pulled over found a phone waited for an ambulance and he died what would have been said then. I bet I would have been charged with some form of a crime. I will tell you this not to toot my horn but I am the guy that always gets out and helps people on the rd and tries to do right and buy food for the homeless. I tell you being a jerk and looking the other way is my new outlook on life......... I think.

You did the right thing and I hope the courts see that. You'd do it again if the same thing happen. It was a kid with a seizure, and yes the first time is one of the scariest things, as a parent I would hope that others would use as much care and thinking as you did. You didn't panic and you took them for care. I wish you only good things from now on in life!!
