Does anyone know what the breakdown pay is for company drivers?
I can't find anything about that in all those packets of info they give at orientation.
Looks like I'll be down atleast 2 full days. They sent a driver to repower my load last night so that is handled.
I have been struggling to keep my mpg at a good percent and now I know why. My dpf was almost completely blocked and I have a egr malfunction of some sort (egr is beyond my realm of understandings). I'm told those will dramaticly hurt fuel effeciency, exspecially the dpf.
Sorry to ramble, but i'm sitting in a hotel room bored out of my mind.

How many days is your truck going to be down?
-
Breakdown pay is $75 a day n starts after 24 hours
-
if your company does not specifically say that there is a specific amount that you get for breakdowns, or lay overs, you probably will get nothing.
-
It's 75. I asked my tnt trainer, he should know... from experience
-
no detention pay though is that correct? thats the killer, especially for reefer
-
Detention pays after you've been waiting for so long. Not sure what the rate is, but think it starts 2 hours past drop read time. I'll ask my trainer... he doesn't know the rate. Timing depends on the customer, some are one hour, some are 4 hours. I do know, if you don't use the stamp, good luck getting it.

eastcoastguy1975 Thanks this. -
Egr. is exhaust gas recycle . takes exhaust gases from manifold and puts them back into the intake. basically burning un burnt fuel.

stamping every page of the bills is the big thing we sat at general mills last week for ten hrs(it wasn't an open window appt either) waiting on our load asked Fm about detention and he said we would get it as long as we stamp every page on the bills...didn't asked how much it was though or when it started

you need to find these things out before you start with a company brother
