Ok you are standing out in the field. About 200 yards out is that monster buck of a life time. Wind is blowing slightly. The buck just won't budge. he is not getting any closer.

    Your options are

1 Renegade bow fully outfitted with the best in sights etc and Carbon Express CX 300 arrows

2 Rugar 22 mag with a bull barrel and fully outfitted with the best scope money can buy.

3 Savage model 110 .270 with a laminated stock, heavy barrel, Best scope money can buy and 120 grain ammo.

Remember now, this is the only deer you get to hunt this season. You are looking for food on the table along with a trophy to hang on the wall.

Ok now, you need to talk to someone 10 miles away on 11 meter (CB).

Conditions are not perfectly quiet. There is heavy static in the air.

    Your choices are

1 handheld CB of your choice.

2 Cobra 29 through a perfectly tuned wilson 5000 antenna.

3 Connex 4600 turbo through the same antenna.

Can't speak for the hunting part as I don't hunt, but I'd take that Connex over the other two options in a heartbeat!

Since you said 10 miles, that rules out the hand held unless you were standing on top of a mountain.

I'd take the Connex over the Cobra.

The Connex should punch through to noise no question.

    No you didn't !!!!

Hand held all the way. FSR/GMRS will outperform ANY you have listed. AND fit in your pocket.

And cost up to 80% less.

Choice of weapon, is severely handicapped. :(

But, under the circumstances you described. It would have to be the 110.

Add a .243 or larger yo you hunting list, I would take any of them as thats all is legal in Kansas.

I'd take the Connex in radios although my peaked and tuned Cobra got out pretty far with a big whip.

Cheating since FSR/GMRS wil not comunicate with a CB.

As for the weapon choice. Sorry I fixed it. Ment to say Savage Model 110 in .270

As far as the savage goes. LOL I have both in 270 and 243.

LMAO...that's why they sell those radios in pairs.

MY choice of guns, would be a good slug gun. 12 gauge. There are a few that can handle a 200 yard shot, very few. But, I could eat squirrel if I missed that deer.

He said 11 meter CB. FRS/GMRS is not CB. And many times they will not make a 10 mile trip. I seen where they don't make a 2 mile trip. It all depends on location.

If your in the brush 120 grains is pretty light. 180 to 200 makes more sense. I know I lived in Montana 7 years hunting Elk, Antelope, and deer, and you need weight to get through heavy brush. Or was this a trick question. Just do not make it mad whatever you do I've seen what an angry 1,100 LB Az. mule deer can do do a person. Broke a lot of bones in a guys body and he spent months laid up. I should point out the better the trophy the worse the meat so if food is your goal you might consider quality over quantity. Then you can brag about it on your Connex 4600 Turbo.
