^ Thank you. I did talk to Maverick today and they said that it is ok with them even with the situation at hand. I know I know I am talking to a recruiter. I will get something in wrighting or something like that to cover my bases if they decide to hire me. He said that right now all looks fine on my employment histor (only goes back 3 years so not much to look at there) and he said that he will have a answer for me in the morning. They were still waiting for my MVR to come back. I don't know if they have pulled the background check but it will just be a blank piece of paper. I will still take advise you folks give me on this. I have been upfront and as honest as I can be with them so I will see what they say.

I would like to say this as well. I was mad about the whole issue with the cop but I have thought it out. The cops job is to find people who are doing wrong and ticket them. The cop did his job. I did break the law by running the lights and speeding. He was right to ticket me for this. It is the judges job to deal with the punishment of the infraction. I will see the solicitor and I believe all will be fine. Even if it goes to a jury trial (yes we do have them down here. It will be 6 people not 12 for traffic) I would have to prove that I was not RECKLESS. I will post the definition of that word in just a moment. remember I went thru the intersections blowing my horn, slowing down, and looking both ways before proceeding. Now read the definition and see if you would say that I was reckless.

    Now the definition from dictionary.com
1.utterly unconcerned about the consequences of some action; without caution; careless (usually fol. by of): to be reckless of danger

Shame you didn't do it in St. Johns County in Florida, went to court couple years ago with a friend for reckless driving and I couldn't believe my ears and eyes the Judge literally let everyone off with reduced charges or dropped them all together. She let al least 10 people on first DUI plede guilty to reckless and drop the DUI. I sat there and watched about 100 people get off it was amazing. The Judge probably let go $30,000 in fines just that day.

I believe I will be fine when this is all said and done. I trust in God anyway so he has it under control and I can't change it at all.

I live in Volusia County and used to work in Seminole County.... It always seemed to depend on the Judge's mood that day... If a defendant pissed the judge off that day... everyone was guilty... If a cop or State Attorney pissed the judge off that day... everyone was innocent... go figure judges... the people making those decisions should not be politicians needing votes to stay in office.

Good. Don't give up on cops or doing good deeds. You did good.
There are a small percentage of cops that are just there because
they like the power and control. No one seems to remember the ones
that have a heart and common sence. They are out there. As
a truck driver, if you last you will probably meet each type.
If you trust in God you know these things happen for a purpose.
    Someday you will know why.

OK, I have a question. I have spoke to my recruiter and they have all my background stuff. He said that on one of the reports they pulled it says there is a pending reckless driving charge. Of coarse as you know he already knew all about it. He said that it was not a problem. He said as long as they could get verification from on previous employment I was in and he would be sending me to orientation. My question is what do I do. If he says it is OK what do I do say its not and I want it in writing? I want to cover myself but on the other hand I don't want to be a jerk to this guy who "seems" nice and helpful. I do understand these guys. Out of high school I went into the military and let a recruiter talk me out of telling about a knee injury. Let me tell you going thru all but a little of Paris Island and not graduating sucks. I want to do right what do you guys suggest?

All I can say is remember the Marines! Remember he gets paid to put you in the seat that's it. If you don't gradute then that's your problem and so is the bill for training.

I agree but what do I need to ask for to cover myself?

I guess you can ask this recruiter for something in writing, but I doubt he gives you anything. You have proof they know about the incident, it's on your record, but the key word here is "pending". So this may not be a problem with the recruiter to get you in the program, but once you get to orientation it might be a problem, once you get through training it might become a problem. It all depends on what happens in court with your charge, and no one here can predict the outcome of your case, or the reaction of any company to that outcome.

Basically there's no one that can offer you a gurantee about this, not even the company you hire into. There is actually one gurantee.... if you don't get this reckless driving charge reduced, you will have a lot of problems starting a career in the trucking industry.
