was in warehouse work for over 20 years , got tiered of bosses breathing down my throat and the non leadership of the teamsters running my local and bad contracts and kinda liked the feeling of being more independent as far as work went. Took a job with transam and instead of sticking to my guns signed a lease , Big mistake on my part but tell you what i loved what i was doing . now after recouping and being laid off at home I'm getting back on the road after 14 months .. think first before you decide and ask questions . I'm a hard worker and always have been but most lease programs out there are made to keep you broke and behind the wheel delivering their freight cheap or for free so stay away from the lease crap and good luck. this post was not started to knock trans am it was just my personal experience that i could not make any money in their lease program after the first 2 months other than that i have nothing bad to say about them.... looking forward to getting back on the road again . be safe drivers

Picked berries, apples, and cherries in the orchards around our house
    Waited tables
    Pumped gas
    Cleaned motel rooms
Put plump ladies on exercise machines in a spa
Did drafting and built wing ribs in an airplane factory
    Worked in a movie theater
Did security in a big factory
Did security at a power plant
Did drafting at a coal mine, at a coal fired power plant, at several nuclear power plants, and at an architect's office
Worked reception at a hospital emergency room
Worked in a rubber fan belt factory (not very long!)
Sold Avon - sucked at it
    Tended bar several times
Worked on a road crew getting asphalt samples for testing
Did drafting in a surveying office
Started my own surveying company and had it running for 10 years
Did police dispatch for 2 years
Was police officer for 9 years
Had retail store for 2 years
Now doing independent hot shot and love it!

I really had to think, I've always worked and probably left out some of the shorter jobs. Just kept moving up to better stuff when I could and liked to try new work.

I think I spent a lot of "wasted" time, on careers that I thought would provide a consistent income, over the years.

    In no particular order...

    Radio
    Programming
    Web Development
    Oil Field Trash
Prior military ( that I wish I had stayed and retired )
Furniture -- only thing I haven't done there...is sell it.
Business Manager -- My own and others.

Let's see....military (Coast Guard), chef, professional musician, cop, commercial fisherman, carpenter, merchant mariner, equipment operator, stevedore, arctic oil pipeline maintenance, bar tender, bouncer, tv cameraman, radio dj. Yup, I think that about covers it
