I second Celticwolf. If you read the manual, it specifically says maximum output when plugged into the 12v outlet is 150w. I tried using a 200w crock pot off one of those inverters, and ruined the inverter. It may say 400w on the packaging, but if you have it plugged into the cigarette lighter, consider it 150w.

Thank You for explaining that to me... I threw out the instructions for that thing a long time ago... I never explored properly wiring it to the batteries cause I've always been in a company truck with no inverters allowed...

To me it seems like every truck that has a sleeper should be manufactured with an APU and 120volt power outlets... Everybody wants to save the environment with "no idle laws". How about requiring sleeper cabs to have APU's!

Sorry I strayed off the topic of this thread!

I have a little 2 QT crock pot that is a 95w max
    Got it from Wally World.

It sounds like your cig lighter is not putting out enough amps....

I mostly use an electric skilet I bought at wal-mart for inside the truck. Its' very versitle. I have a gas grill i use outside of the truck. Electric coffee pot. I don't feel a need for a mirowave. A small crock pot works well too. Cook while on the fly,

I got the 2qt crock from wally world. It works great, but it has blown through 2 inverters. I got the 300wt yellow one form pilot for $30. It blows the inverter at about 20days so I just take the inverter in and say, this thing is not working, and they give me a new one. Note keep the recipt and you only have 30days for an exchange.
But I used to eat soup and what not out of the can and there is something to be said about warming up your food. I feel fuller and do not snack as much when I eat warm food.

Actually no on face value of the post, but I have to ask why it blows the inverter in 20 days.. There is more to this story that just may well be slightly dishonest.

I'm too #### lazy to dig my 2qt WallyWorld crock pot out and look at it. What's the rating on the crock pot? Watts if its there, Amps if not.
