$23.00 an hour is not too shaby for everything but the "load/unload".

I can unload a trailer in 2 hours or less. That would be $46.00. A lumper or lumper service would get $150.00 to $300.00 for the same load and same amount of time.
Sore subject with me....what trucking companies are willing to pay the driver versus a lumper (service) for the same work.
Nope! Keep your money boss.....I'm sitting this one out!
I used to love lumping my own load for the exersice and extra dough----until, I found out what the company would pay a lumper, and what they paid me.
Very earley in my career I got $70.00 once to unload 43,000 lbs. of 90 lb. boxes of meat (floor load to pallet)---found out what the company would have been willing to pay a lumper (think it was $150.00 in the earley 90's)....and said NEVER AGAIN.

all this extra pay adds up to very lillte per week anyway they try to avoid having drivers do anything but drive...maybe I get only 1 to 2 hundred per week hourly pay.... most pay is mileage

Is there a way to charge them $300 and cash the lumper number at the next truck stop?
