Thanks. That is a great update on ND. I am doing my research now. Will start applying soon.
Got lots of phone calls to make. Then I'll make the trek up there in a week or two. Would love to have more info on those companies. Want to gather as much information as possible.

Go to work for Schneider and watch your wages and all others in oil patch turn to ####. There are LOTS of GOOD jobs without hopping in bed with the RATS. Work smart not stupid. Say no to cheap wages or the oil patch will be just like most of the OTR-crap sandwich.BigJohn54, Tractor7127 and dirtsquirter Thank this.

Careful with that heater. Crack a window. Don't want to see the buzzards{jobless drivers} picking over your carcass and belongings.

All the oilfield threads on the TTR Forum are loaded with company names but you have to read through the entire threads to get them. You can find a lot of companies that are hiring on both the TX and ND job service. This is the state websites for job listings. Just Google them. I think ND is ndworkforceconnection dot com.

To be honest, I think the only people who will work for schneider and the other otr rat companies will be the flunkies and ill-informed. I doubt these companies can do much damage because theres so much competetive hiring and wages in the oil field.
Here at nabors, the wages arent the greatest and we are losing experienced drivers because they are going to where the better money is at.
Nabors is ALWAYS hiring and theres a reason for this, the better paying companies arent hiring like nabors does and its not so much because the driver market is getting saturated, its more of a logistics and infastructure problem.
I know of a company that is getting 50 more trucks and they pay by the load. They cant just shove 50 new drivers out there right away because the crude stations are already getting clogged up with drivers waiting in line.
But no doubt, there is good drivers going after those better jobs. Companies are raising there load percentages to keep drivers. This is in the midland/odessa area but i was also told that even in dakota, new drivers show up and get 20 bucks an hour working for a lease operator and quickly get wise to how they are getting screwed and can make 30 bucks an hour from other lease operators.
The only thing imo thats going to screw up this driver market is just the bottom falling out of oil for now. I guess these rat companies will screw this all up one day but i plan on being retired by then......hopefully. -
Why thank you but i cant take too much credit for scoring a job at nabors, they are basically hiring anyone. I found this out over my brief time here and having a good attitude doesnt necessarily get you far with certain companies. I personally think I'm one of their best new hires and i been the last one picked to go out with a trainer for the majority of the past week. I should be certified by now and nobody seems to be in a rush to send me on my own and i'm getting sick and tired of the passenger seat and watching 10 different ways and opinions of how the job is done......so i wouldnt say i got the best attitude either to a certain extent. I'm as ready as i'm gonna be and i want to be on my own and run my job my way which i know is very good and above average.
I think the only thing i'll acknowledge about myself is that i have gumption and a fairly high aptitude for stuff. With that being said, i would be very very impressed with anyone who could get a job at power fuels right now in north dakota with no experience.....now that would be impressive
I'm tellin you all, i feel that calling and always will. I may just wait for the absolute worst part of the winter and bang on their door and demand a job. I feel it coming!!!! -
I dare ya!!

LOL, for myself i dont think it will take balls at all, if i feel its the right move and my only chance, i'll go for it and if i crap out, then i'll get on with someone out there and take it from there and regroup for another assault at tryin to get on with them.
I'm perfectly happy right now with nabors and even though its not the greatest company, its good for me. I dont need to be coddled or pat on the back, i just want to be left alone and not get smoke blown up my butt and nabors gives me that, however, i am ambitious and there is substantially better paying companies out there and i think its perfectly normal to want to take advantage of it. I also feel its ok if someone just wants what a company like nabors has to offer and just grind it out, nothing wrong with that either.
I'm happy either way......for now lol. Wish i knew what i know now before hand but oh well, live and learn and enjoy the struggle of life. Finding the right fit in this field aint easy, theres a million companies with a billion opinions and a zillion stories. I certainly cant say ive made any huge mistakes so far.
