What are the years that Cat built the pre-Acert C-15 and 3406E engines ?

    i.e. 3406E 19?? - 19??, etc...

    Thanks!

No Cat made the 2WS 3406E up until 2000. Since it uses the same ECM as a C15 it frequently gets grouped in with them even though it's a 3406E.

The year of the truck doesn't mean much. I have a 2004 with an Acert but a friend has a 2004 with a MBN both KW T800's. There has been all sorts of configurations, just depends on when it was built in that year.

So, it is safe to say that, if I get a '94 or later Pete, with a factory Cat in it, then it will be electronic (?) .

It SHOULD be, but that doesn't mean that they didn't swap in a mechanical one. But for the majority of trucks out there, if it is a 94+ it will have an electronic CAT.
