Most banks would consider this to be a start up but would take into account your previous experience. Its also a plus that you would be driving for the same company. A majority of banks want to see 2-5 years in business but depending on your personal credit, net worth, equipment, down payment, and a variety of other factors it might be something that can be put together. Its really a case by case deal unfortunately. Its probably best to talk with your local bank and put together a business plan of some sort (smaller banks seem to be easier to work with than the big banks). Your loan terms would also be much more favorable....

I ran into this when I bought my parents' house . The title search found a 30 year old lien . My father had paid the loan off but he was deceased and no one knew how to contact the person that placed the lien . Our attorney had us post a legal notice in the newspapers for 30 days . When there was no response the lien was removed .

It would be nice if I could do that. But this is a tax lien with the state.

I have no way to prove it was paid. I know it was, since said lien was made part of a business arrangement/loan. And I had to "walk" the receipt from the courthouse to the bank to receive a loan.

But it's been over 15 years..... I dunno anybody (other than my mom) that keeps receipts that long.

I've already decided to pay it again. And will be utilizing certified mail for the transaction...and saving the receipt until hell freezes over.

Heres one for you Finance Guru.:biggrin_25514:

A year ago we tried to buy a semi truck with a purchase price of $25000 on an 2006 FL they wanted $7000 down payment because our credit score was a little bit bad. A year later we had cleaned up our debt, raised our score to almost 700 and added recent good credit. And they still want $7000 on a 2005 FL at $22900. It don't make sense. Does anyone know of a truck dealership that is good and will finance us??
    -------------------------------
Just to give you more info... my husband has been driving for 10 years and I have 4 years. We do have some money saved up for repairs and break down. Plus we will be leasing onto one of the top ten carriers and that offer to "pay" for the repair and then take it out in weekly installments. But keep in mind, if it does break down, we will pay half of the bill and then have the carrier front the other half so that we can keep cash in the bank. We think the dealership is full of s%$t and we are going back to SelecTruck and see what they say. We do not have bad credit. What gets me if a car company is willing to finance us for a $50000.00 car why can't we get a semi truck?? We don't want a $50000 car we want a semi truck something thats going to make money. We have transported for T.S.I., S.T.I. , Black Panther, P.T.L.

Why is it so hard to get financing for a APU? Also I am thinking of buying a trailer, what kind of finance rates can I expect with that?

The bad thing about financing a apu is some times it gets installed on a unit the is not paid for. Said trk. get re-po'ed and the apu goes with it and then they have to fight to get the apu unit off said re po.

Fireba11- You probably won't be able to get financed for the APU unless the bank takes the title to the truck its on. This is for the exact reason passingthru mentioned.

Homemade and Lonelyswmtrucker- I sent each of you a message....

yes, there is an apu you can get financed on very easily. if you are an ooida member approval is guranteed. they are dynasys by hodyon. www.hodyon.com right now they have a 2000 grant they you can get after that payment will be 381 for 24 months with about an 800 dollar buyout at the end. no money upfront or down.

total monthly payment will be about 410 with taxes they add. mine works great

trucker43, Zangief and fireba11 Thank this.
