Yeah I know I screwed up. My school didn't say anything to me about my driving record but every other record on me is clean. I would do dump truck if anyone hired rookie drivers but thats not the case here in California at least

Well FWIW, we were all "young and dumb" at one time! Of course some of us just didn't happen to get caught. But you did, and it is going to continue to effect you for a while. I imagine your insurance premiums aren't exactly what could be called "reasonable" right now either.

I think you may be better off to go do something else for a while, until both of these drop off. I know that isn't what you WANT to hear, but I doubt you will get taken on by even an O/O right now.

Also they "young and dumb" statement will go down a bit better once you are not quite as "young" as you are now. At least that's the way I would look at it, if I was hiring someone.

Yeah good point I know I'm only 27 and the young and dumb comment doesnt seem right coming from someone my age but I have learned a lot in the last couple years but that doesnt mean anything to the ones hiring me. My insurance was high but once that first one went past the 3 years they dropped quite a bit.

That's not always the case. have you tried? Did you go to any of these dump truck companies and apply or ask? Nowadays phone calls and newspaper ads mean nothing, applying in person makes a huge difference. Even if a company doesn't have a ad out that they are hiring might hire you, but you don't know until you apply and see what happens. They might even want you to have experience but people have gotten jobs that require 3yrs experience and only have 6 months. I never drove a roll off in my life only 53' foot trailers with a sleeper cab and it was only for a short time, walked into a place filled out the app and got the job as a roll off driver. I now have one of the 2 best roll offs we have and also pull trailers and drive a tri axle when they need. all I'm trying to say is don't give up and keep trying, you could get lucky.
