When you test out it's like taking your DPS test. Over exaggerate everything like both hands on wheel, using your mirrors, turning your head at each intersection. Basically, over act everything. Your trying to impress them. What their looking for are bad habits, something that can't be fixed in a second chance. When I tested out I talked about each move I did. For example, while making a turn I would say " I am in proper gear, my turn signal is on, watching my tandems, watching my
header board, I am in proper lane, my trailer is straight, my turn signal us off, and shifting to higher gear once trailer was straight". Sounds corney but trust me they liked it. Scored a 99 with Deb, and she is tough but fare.

Now after you kiss butt during your test out, and get your keys to your own truck. Then you can drive like you want to. Just do the Kiss butt thing for the test out.

I don't think its about what your driving technique is going to be for the rest of your career. It's more about how you operate the equipment during your eval.
That being said, As Edmund described his experience, it may have been decided before he left the yard, or not, who knows? Hell, DPS gives you 3 tries. the academy gives you 3 tries. According to Edmund, You get one shot with Sal, or the silver dog takes you home. Hell I got a hard brake event in my 1st week out, and I may have sent a pretrip inspection @ 15 mins instead of 16, does that mean FFE is going to vaccinate themselves from THE ROAD VIRUS? Should I be worried? Edmund, are you on the hook for the 3 grand? -
I was E-mailed by my recruiter. I have been Approved and my date is scheduled for 12/5. Very excited now.

On another note someone posted before, there's no way they would put someone through school and then let them go once there training was done because of no work. Doesn't make sense.
Edmund everything does happen for a reason. Good luck to you in your future ventures. God Bless Drive Safe. -
from my experience with the company I went with and from what others have told me ( i know, I know, it's not gospel lol) a lot of companies are strict on the test out and it's always one shot. It's either pass or fail not well you messed this up but let's see if you get it this time.

Hey, Playmaker. The cooler in your truck is working, yes? If so, I'll bring couple of jars of the jam I put up last summer. You can call it a "truck warming" gift...and something to take the sting out having to look over in the cab and seeing my ugly phizz instead of your lovely girlfreind. Peach and blueberry. Pretty killer goop. People have been known to commit murder to get their hands on some of my exceptional jam. OK, it's not exceptional....but it's really, really good. And who cans these days, anyway. A downright lost art. And my wife wants the sugar out of the house. She's trying to diet and don't need the temptation. But I made low sugar jam for her and it's #### near as good as the high octane stuff I'm bringing.
THE PLAYMAKER Thanks this. -
Virus....always make sure you have a plan B...Am I on the hook for the three grand? Thats the $3000 question,I don't know.I tried to call the academy to get in touch with Greg Peace or David Bilbo and left messages to find out but evidently nobody there answers the phones there or returns messages. Either way I would think not considering they nagated the contract by sending me home.

Thats not even true at FFE,three other students failed for speeding and got a second chance to retest and passed on the retest and got trucks.
