Both of these companies are telling me they may be able to take me on with the driving record I have. Who would be a better company to go with? Why or why not?

6 of one and 12 of the other! My bro went with Schneider for 1 yr. New truck under 350000 miles, pretty color for fall, and they had the freight.

USA will chew you up, spit you out, and never even know who you were (or care). Go with the pumpkin.

From my research, ORANGE

Ummm; if you read the forums.....USA is in trouble, Schneider is not. But both appear to suck, so.......what-ever.

Recent news about USA.
USA seems to be under a threat of hostile takeover from Celadon, and USA has been losing money due to not being able to keep drivers. To me, giant red flag. If I had to choose between the two (and I may once I get out of school) it would be Schneider. But hit the Company DAC reports here on this forum for both companies to see what you think of the feedback given by current and former drivers. It sounds like every other industry out there, some people have good experiences and some people have bad experiences with any given company. -
Any current USA or Schneider drivers out there have anything to add or say?
-
If you haven't already, check this section and the DAC reports: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/motor-carrier-questions-the-inside-scoop/
Very helpful, first hand information! -
I'm with Schneider. My best friend is with USA.
He's been home 2 days in the past 2 months. I've been home about 21.
He whines on the phone to me daily. I laugh my ### off, at him.
I tell you with 100% certainty. He would advise you to stay as far away from USA as possible.
Especially since they informed a driver that had been out 5 weeks, they were only allowed to take 2 days off at a time. -
Yeah that doesnt sound right! Everyone needs a lil hometime to clear the head. You say you've had 21 days off, Are you getting steady miles with all that time off?
