Haven't seen any Roehl trucks rolling in and around Columbia, SC this week. Where ya'll at? I am trying to get set up to go to Ellenwood on Nov. 21 or earlier to start orientation / training. If those Comp Care folks will hurry up and get my physical paperwork to Ms. Cheryl maybe she can confirm me a start date.
I usually see several trucks up and down I 26 east and west but haven't so far this week.
Where's all the Roehl trucks in Columbia, SC this week?

I'm pretty sure most of those trucks in Columbia are running Trane loads. I know a lot of them run Columbia to Clarksville TN and back again. I'm sure they have some freight from other places, but I would imagine it's inconsistent.
-
How is freight thru South Carolina in general? I am hoping to be in one of Roehl's freight lanes here in SC so I can get back home without alot of problems. I read where they have a drop yard in Darlington, SC so I figured they must have trucks thru here a good bit. Is my thought process at least going in the right direction? I like everything I have read about Roehl so far.

couple paper mills round there too...

yep just picked up at I.P. in eastover, SC... Heading to Southern ILL.

theres alot more then just trane, those are just the gravy ones lol. alot out of International Paper.
Being im moved to Augusta,GA I go to Columbia alot to bring out from the house. -
You don't run flatbed do you Rebel? I think I want to start off with van first to get my feet wet driving. How much drop and hook do ya'll do with Roehl?
-
I drove thru Columbia earlier this week but didn't pick up or deliver there.
I'm a Van Driver and we do a lot of drop and hook, but depends on timing too. This time of year there are more live loads industry wide due to how manufacturing is operating. -
my suggestion to anyone thinking of doing van then go flat is start flat
that way you get all the hands on w the trainer (tricks of the trade) 13 days from them..
if you switch to it later you get securement and a couple days with the local guy... a definite disadvantage -
if you decide its not for you, you can always go van
