Yea it is way better now. I mean who does not want to come to orientation for 3 days and then get sent home because they would not team or lease. And I guess waiting for a trainer after being sent home first or sitting in a motel for a week, is much better then getting one in orientation, like when i worked there.
They are so great, instead of running all those loads across country like when i was there they are so nice they let you pick them up at the rail yard and del them. USX, we care
Another porch puppy failing at puffing up, sad.
is U.S Xpress good company to work for? why it's very bad company?

One problem is usx dispatch is clueless. They sit on the 3rd floor of that big office building in Chattanooga. Cust serv, planners, dispatch all sit next to one another & yet still have NO clue as to what anyone is doing .
-
Blanket statements are rarely accurate. My Fleet Manager is pretty awesome. Just like every company I have ever worked for, there are bad employees, good employees, great employees and people who should be fired.
-
That's not a blank statement...it's the honest truth.
I've seen firsthand that's what happens there. -
it is a blank statment,
yes SOME dispatchers are clueless but they also have some that are very good at their job, but if YOU think it is so EZ why don't you do it....? -
it's your own fault if you don't ask if they are hiring SOLO'S in your area...
they don't guarantee you will get a trainer the day you get out of orientation DO THEY...? and yes they are short on trainers but if your picky (female, no-smoker, ect...) then it my take even longer. and why make trainers sit around and wait for someone to train when 20% woun't make it out of orientation..
havn't seen a solo yet the can LEGALLY make the runs we do.... it's cheaper to put it on the rail (if time permits) if not and a solo can a solo does if a solo can't then a team does....
after all it is a business not a hobby or did you forget about that
as a solo i made good money, as a team i made better (teams always do) as a O/O i make very good money. -
Ive worked for usx for the last 4 yrs, started out co. drv and couldnt make any money.4to500.00 a wk staying out 2 months is not good money.was giong to quit when they talked me into a lease.Have leased with them last 3 yrs.I did well with the lease, averaged 3000 il per wk and took home 1to 1300.00 a wk.Turned my last truck in aug (lease was up,2010 pete) Needed some time off, like i said i stay out 2 to 3 mos.(only way to make money on lease).Called a few days ago and was told only leasing 07 frt liners now.I had already leases one of those (my first lease) and had nothing but problems (17 brk downs,32 shop days lost, motels on my dime and usx wouldnt let me out of that trk) I made the deal and stuck it out. But i would not recomend this lease to anybody, reason being that the only 07 trks they will lease are cat engines. They wont lease the detroits because they know the problems with the cat engine (thats why they take 10cents a mile out of pay for maint. acct.) The other major problem with the cat is fuel mileage(5 to 6 mpg, lower on heavy lds) Any drv with exp knows these facts to be true.
Yes you own the trk in 2yrs but at what cost? 45,000 is a lot for a low mpg, high maint cost trk that will be pushing a million miles when lease is completed. My maint. on the pete was 03 cents. The name of the game in leasing is mpg.Enough about that.My talking to usx co drvs over the yrs has been that they do alot of local dels out of yds and rail heads also alot of short runs in the N.E. You have to realize that usx is a huge co with a avg turnover rate of 120% of their drivers per yr.If your just starting you can gain exp. there to move on to better things down the road.Times will be tough on new drivers,so if you have a family or other obligations you better think long and hard, because to make money there you must stay out on the road.I myself have been off and probably wont be going back there unless lease program changes.New hires, how many people were in your orentation class ? times it by 3 (springfield, dallas, tunnel hill) and you will realise how many people are hired every wk,its actually mind boggling
,buts thats also how many quit.Good luck to all of you! -
reason MOST don't make it out of orientation is failed physical (bp, vision)failed drug test (yes some people are that stuped) back ground check (mdv, dac, criminal) think they not going to find that dwi from 12 years ago....?
how abot getting a ticket when taking your road test....? hapened a few weeks ago
i didn't fail my physical, i don't do drugs, and my last ticket was 34 years ago so gee i made it out of orientation. and as of right now my 8 year csa score is N/D no data as in no tickets, no accidents, no inspections -
You Could learn alot from RickG,
just sayin........
