My best friend, whos been an OTR driver for almost 6 years, and I are wanting to become hotshot drivers. I grew up around truck driving somewhat and have spent sometime going OTR. I come from an Agricultural background, so I have some experiance in pulling a stock trailer but no CDL and my cousin is a hotshot driver. We are both single and have no kids so we are free to stay out awhile longer then most/ Our main problem is that we dont know where to start looking to get more information on what direction to go. We want to start out with as little over head as possible until we get our experiance and then get 2 trucks running at the sametime.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start getting information and how to find a company, perferably a smaller family operation, thats gonna help us start up?

I'd look more to expedite than hotshot . The economy has really hurt the hotshot business . I've seen a lot of good hotshotters have to get out of it and those remaining are barely getting by .

we have 1 truck and 3 drivers that are getting all the driving they want. we have more loads. we could load you if you can get the use of a truck and trailer. we are based out of Atlanta, GA but that doesn't matter. i live in florida and the other two drivers live in south carolina. we run the eastern half of the US.
you may call me talk about it if you are interested. we do have loads. 850 628-7263 -
Move to Houston TX or anywhere oil and gas is king. Check craigslist greensheet or local newspaper. Plenty of work.
