I met a driver who had ferrets! Yeah, freaking 6 FERRETS! (His female had had a litter while on the road.) He kept the babies in a carrier for the most part, and Mama and Daddy ran loose. I can say this, that was one of the cleanest trucks I have ever seen, and one of the happiest drivers I have ever met.
Dog or cat on the truck?

We sometimes take our ####zu, and trust me even tho he's only about 10 lbs, it sure isn't easy sometimes. Also he thinks he's a pitbull or german shepard so he barks at anyone coming near the door, that gets bad. I usually have to keep him in the sleeper and make sure he's distracted so he won't bark. So we have decided life on the road is much easier with him at home with our girls.

My wife and I have a 14 lb Rat Terrier that is perfectly happy in the truck with us and so are we. Great dog to have around and only have issues at refineries for the most part. If hes out of sight then hes out of mind. I do flatbed and have never had a problem at military bases. I have even been to a canadian military base and they never had a problem with him or my wife.

I got a big dog with me and it's never been an issue. I usually try to keep him out of sight at most shippers/recievers but never had any say anything other then "pretty dog"
Honestly, my company knows i have him, I paid the deposit to have him. If they dispatch me to a place that i can pull in with him, I'll let them know, and it's their problem. -
Thats why you close the privacy curtain.

im not sure i'd let someone look in my truck for any reason. never had anyone ask, but to me, thats not ok.
I have fought recievers that claim they have to hold your truck key. I always refuse that because I don't want anyone to have free access to whats inside my truck.THBatMan8 Thanks this. -
I have people looking in my truck all the time and sometimes with a drug dog. Thats the price you pay for hauling good paying loads into canada, ports and hazmat. No big deal.To me its nothing as I have nothing to hide. I have to take my dog out if the dog comes in as he will go off. LOL Most shippers and receivers dont do this, but there are several places I go that its done along with x-ray, etc.

+1
They can check the cab all they want, but the sleeper is off limits. I don't even allow/like it when border patrol gets nosy; and most of the loads I haul out of Mexico/Laredo are medical supplies which are sensitive to x-rays, so that kills the x-ray. -
Right !!!!!!!!!!!

Sleeper is NOT off limits......
Mommas_money_maker Thanks this.
