Truck rental for CDL test

They do not take every body, prefere you to have experiance, will tell you upfront to go to school if you are new driver, the trainer Sue very good and honist.

In California I second jiffy's truck rental the truck was beyond easy to test in I went from never sitting in a truck before to having a class a with only 4 hours driving in between. I do have to say though if you have the ability to go to a school by all means do. I have had to many close calls to say my way was the best way. Also as stated most companies want school anyway. As far as just jumping in though you better be a fast learner, knwow some basic physics so you can at least try to predict how the truck will react, and have a good memory for the pretrip stuff. For the backing up you can always rent a u haul trailer it you can put a twenty footer somewhere with a pickup a semi is pretty easy for the most part in my opinion it is easier because the semi cuts sharper and the trailer reacts more predictably.

 

Anyone in the DC/VA metro area know where I can rent a tractor trailer for my VA DMV test

 

I used a cdl rental truck that I found on the internet. They are located in Weatherford, Texas. They helped me out a lot.

 

I have friends that have used a company in the Longview / Tyler Texas area. They use single axle day cab tractors with automatic transmissions pulling pup trailers. They are very thourough in preparing you for your air brake & road tests. East Texas CDL Services (ETCDL) is the name.
