    Ummmm... What??:biggrin_2554: :biggrin_2556:

I think everyone understands what your original point was. I also think everyone understands mine as well. Why the attack on me? And I am interested in knowing exactly who you claim I have ever "bashed." I would invite those in charge of this forum to do as you wish if they agree with you. If they think all I ever do is bash people, they should ban me!

Sorry for the delay, I spent quite a bit of time trying to make sense out of what you said. I can't figure this one out either. Are you saying that you think that Schneider National is going to be bought out by Prime?

the bashing comment wasn't meant to be directed at you so my apologies.... and yeah my words got a little..mixed up shall we say as I was in a rush to type it out and get back on track for what I was searching for to start with. So I do apologize about that.

But what I was talking about is what the first poster was ASKING about... I do believe so many people wanted to jump in and lynch me on what they believe or don't believe that they forgot all about the person asking a question about experiences with PRIME

Ah... so you're saying you have actual experience as a Prime lease-op?

And I believe a lot of people will want to lynch me for making the move to become a L/O for Prime. I didn't expect it to become so personal so quickly. But no harm done.

It's true that many people are unsuccessful when they "jump in" a lease deal at any carrier. Delusions of grandeur can set in, and a driver can believe things about his situation that simply aren't true. But I believe that a person who truly understands what his position is as a L/O, and who understands what it takes to run a business, can be successful at Prime. Someone with a great credit score who can buy their own truck and go where he wants and do what he wants may be better off doing that. Maybe. There is more than one way to make money in this industry. Because mine is right for me doesn't mean it's right for you, and vice versa.

ok after much research i decided on trying to get on with prime.the reasons are many. the location of sprimo, the pay during training. the ability to get a new cpap machine. time alone, but at the same time home time they allow. chance to see family back east. the age of their fleet.etc. I still need to get some paper work done. Need to fix my laptop etc. Although i enjoy my current job, it is dead end, the money is not enough to live off, the benefits are too expensive, and the coworkers are lazy. when the recruiter asked why i wanted to go into this, i tod her because i like to see new places and want to get paid for the work i do. basically if i run hard willbe paid more then someone that is sitting at home taking a lot of timeoff. L/O might be int he future however going to be more then a couple years because i have alot to learn. I have driven non cdl straight trucks but heck i only towed up to a 16 foot trailer for work a while back. One time i had a ryder truck towing a late 80's f160 supercab long bed ( a couple feet shorter then the semi's in the rest areas. drove that from Maine to wv with a stop on long island to visit family. Looking for a job that i can take over my parents house once my mom is gone, but until then i can help her pay the bills since she is alone. thanks for all the prime posts guys you really helped out

I currently lease with Prime.I have a wife and 3 girls ages seven six and three years old. I lease because I have a family to support and someday I would like to own my own truck.prime makes my goals impossible. I've talked with a lot of other drivers who lease purchase.first of all their payments are way too high. most drivers pay 400 to 600 a week. I'm paying 1600 a week this includes insurance and workmans comp.I can't get sick because I would go deep in the hole. I can't get home I miss Thanksgiving and Christmas.in the past 4 months I've been home a day and a half. they also throw cheap freight at you. one time they wanted to see me $3000 to drive from New Jersey California. that's a six-day drive and if you take my 1600 dollar a week lease payment and 2000 dollars in fuel that would put me 500 in the red.and the fleet manager gets mad. because I am watching my back and not taking the load. I still want to buy my own truck but it wont be with Prime. even though their prices are the highest in the industry they want to charge you $15,000 as a down payment on the truck you've been leasing all these years. advice don't go with Prime there are a lot of company that will charge you 500 a week and 1 dollar buy out at the end of your lease. currently I am putting in a application for triple crown services they will get you home nightly.plus my payments will be much lower. I don't know if I'm making a good or bad decision going with Triple Crown. But I do miss my family and I do want a shot at living the American dream.

What's your fuel cost per mile, and what are you driving?
