Seeing as you had your cdl already like me. What was the everyday training like during the academy?

Week 2 is the same for everybody. You go out on the road and drive. then classroom, then drive some more, then more classroom. You just dont have to worry about going to DPS. You will still go through the same lessons as those who do not have a CDL.

everyone will be expected to demonstrate to the instructors how to perform a static air brake test and pretrip inspection. In fact, your daily homework assignment will include writing out the 10 steps of the SABT twice. Along with reading 2 chapters and answering the quizes, these will be required from everyone daily.

The academy and the training is very thorough. They will expect the same from everyone attending with or without previous experience.

Pretty much like road virus stated, everyone has to do the same across the board. Road evals and daily homework. It wasn't so bad though only complaint I have was with the ProTread assignments that we were given and they have only 3 pcs here at the academy. Other than that wasn't to bad.

Expect 10 hours a day, 7 days a week for 14-18 days. That's what I mean by non-stop hustle. be prepared to hit the ground running, but don't let it get to you. It is a great experience. Stay focused, stay positive, and you'll do fine.
