Yes it is somewhat true and Fontana is getting better. But sometimes they do not have trucks for you. I would have had to wait for a month to get my truck if I didn't bug them every day. Trucks go first to SLC so better chance to get one there. I had to take a truck up to SLC as a delivery to get my own. So if you want one right away just make sure you stay ontop of them.

Its really the luck of the draw. If for some reason a bunch of drivers get canned or quit then there will be an abundance of trucks. However if there is a large class of students and all of them just happen to pass, which is very rare, then there may not be enough trucks right at that given moment. They have trucks at all the terminals though so worst case is you may have to travel to go get one. Maybe occasionally repo one. When we first started with Central all we did was truck shuttles for them. It was kind of fun. They just flew us around picking up brand new trucks and paid us very well for it. We also did a bunch of shuttles from the Conley yard to the SLC yard.
Don't worry about getting a truck. Absolute worst case is you will get a brand new one or a custom owner op truck!

Got a confirmation email from Mario.. Gonna follow up with him today.

Klingon got his assigned the same day he upgraded... but it had to get 'fixed' - he waited one more day, then they assigned him another one that was ready - he still misses his 'W9' - I made him give it up when I went out with him - got rid of his 'bachlor pad' - LOL!

LadyK, you are a meanie, making him give up his pad. He can get a hood back when you semi-retire for real.
Lady K Thanks this. -
Hi Central drivers. How are you all this weekend. I applied recently to Central and received a email from Mario Herrera the lead recruiter. I guess its a standard confirmation email? Just wondering who went through Centrals training school and what to expect. I'm a fast learner, professional and currently have my class b. I drive a auto and wonder how difficult the double clutching is and such. Thanks. As far as being over the road for 6-8 weeks is no biggie.

How's the upgrade exam? Is it really hard or its similar to the CdL road test at dmv?
-
i just Took my road test today and now have my class A. the course is very good. its fast but very informitive i went to the fontana one. now i have to do orientation three days next week and then get a trainer. The double clutching was actually easier then i expected. i would recommend this course to anyone
