What's a time to get through the I-495 beltway around Washington DC, headed north.

11PM eastern time to 2AM Eastern Time any other time your asking for trouble and a long wait in traffic.

Rush hour is 3am to 11am and 1pm to 9pm.

I've found it to be hit or miss during the day...Always traffic but not always delays...Or like AT said, hit it late if possible for more predictable results.....

For the time being, I would avoid the western half of the beltway. Considerable amount of construction on that side.

Lane closures and tighter lanes increase any slow down or jam... Especially at the major interchanges on that side.

guess it all depends on where your going and how much time you have...
they have been doing NIGHT construction up that way and its horrible...
I usually get off I-95 at exit 104 yep the truck stop exit....
follow statre rt 207 east for 10 miles it runs right in to US301 north and follow it up to Del 896 back to I-95 just watch your speeds and STOP for all red lights they have cameras on them and they cost $75 if it takes your picture..lol I have only had to pay it once

I did that once in Palm Coast, Florida, in a car. The photo ticket cost a whole lot more than $75, so I bought a traffic camera application for my GPS--never got one since.
