I was disqualified from Stevens also for taking Wellbutrin. I've have since gone off it and went to work for another company. In addition, Stevens will disqualify you for diabetes, high blood pressure and many over the counter cold & flu medicine including the non-drowsy ones!

I'd have to agree.. And in retrospect regarding my case with Steven's I wouldn't have never said anything about the anti-depressant i was taking. However I am glad now that I moved on and got employed within the same week at another company. I'm glad things turned out the way they did. (I was off the medication prior to employment and I no longer take any meds)

God forbid you are ever in an accident. The attorneys will pour through every aspect of your life including all your medical records with a fine tooth comb. Then they will find the medication the doctor prescribed to you that you knowingly and willfully refused to put this information on your application. Where it specifically states "are you prescribed any prescription medications, or under the care of a doctor for any reason". They will crucify you!
Or how about you have an inspection and they find a prescription for you in your truck and no prescription listed on your medical card so they contact your employer to see if they know you are on this prescription.

My point is, it is very unwise to try and hide and refuse to tell your employer that you are on any medication. And if you are caught you will be in a world of hurt for lying.

Except for that pesky little question on your physical.

Don't list that prescription and you will most likely be terminated when they find out.

And your dispatcher is not in a safety sensitive function, nor required to have a drug panel or physical. Hence no comparison.

We won't even bring up the legal ramifications of taking it and not disclosing it if involved in an accident.

Want to be free from telling others of drug use don't enter a career where disclosure is a requirement.

####, anti-depressant's? Ummm, it's a mind altering drug and no matter how you slice it, is againest the rules. If one forgot to take said drug or did something for the brain to over ride the drug, it could turn into a suicidal intent (no pun) while driving a 80,000lbs missle down the road along with the motoring public. Do you think we would feel comfortable? I guess I would like some frys with that.

Don't tell them anything when it comes to medications. It is a HIPPA violations for a health care professional to give out any information to ANY non health personel without a court order. It is a federal offense. If you were ever In an accident, the other persons lawyer would need high probable cause to prove to a judge that your medical records should be released.

Its still against the law to lie on your federal DOT medical and say no you are not on prescription medication when you actually are. That is very bad advice you are giving.
