Fuel in the oil? Are you out of your mind? Same goes with atf in the oil or fuel. Wow, you do that crap and you will have bigger problems than the color of your oil. I just had my cat rebuilt in february and it cost $30,700. No way in hell is there going to be anything other than oil in mine.
New oil and it is black already.

Yeah fuel in your oil tends to burn up your bearings.
rollin coal Thanks this. -
I'll soak parts in diesel fuel to get them clean. Putting fuel in your crankcase has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Even if you only put it in there for five minutes then change the oil, if you can't get all the oil out then how the heck are you going to get all the fuel out? All I can say is i'm glad I have no plans to ever buy another truck when I don't know who had it before. I think i'll drive this one until the wheels fall off.

We run our trucks (Volvo,MAN & Iveco) to 50,000km(30,000 miles)oil change intervals. We normally run them to about 1.5 million kms and sell them on after that. We haven't had a cylinder head or an oil sump(pan) off an engine in over 20 years. We never rev a cold engine....they are left idle for 5~10 mins before moving off from cold. We are now using Lucas oil stabiliser for the last year or so since it became available on the Irish market.
Our Mercedes and BMW diesel cars are all on 25,000~30,000 mile oil intervals in accordance with what their onboard computers dictate, according to driving style, usage etc.... Like our trucks,we haven't opened a car engine for over 20 years, and have no problem topping over 300,000 miles with them reliably.
We always use manufacturer's filters....and a variety of different oil brands. -
Yeah.. that's what I said 5 pages back. Unbelieveable, what the hell are they thinking? and this thread keeps going and going lol....

They do have synthetic & everything falls under Delo 400 branding, but not in their 15-40 designation. Which is probably the difference most were citing.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Out of my mind? No. Its new from top to bottom and front to back. (Same block)new everything else. Turbos, air compressor, fan clutch. It made over a million miles the first go. And I wanted it to do that again. Now if I had went out and spent $140,000 on a new truck instead. Then yes I would be completely out of my freaking mind. Any more stupid questions?

Its cheaper to rebuild your truck then it is to buy a new one
-
Exactly, and I will take my 05 W9 over any new truck any day of the week.
