Insurance companies will check your last 3 years on your mvr. As long as it shows on your mvr, it is going to be difficult to find someone who can get you covered on their insurance. I would not give up. There may be someone who can get you past the insurance company, as long as the DUI wasn't in a commercial vehicle. Most carriers won't hire anyone with a DUI that is less than 5 years old. All you can do is keep knocking on doors until one opens.

In Iowa..... a DUI (called OWI in Iowa) will stay on your record for 12 years. Anybody and everybody can see it for 12 years.
