Central Refrigerated Truck Stop

Maybe you were passed by drivers that have purchased the trucks. Once they are not leasing them, but only leasing them on, they can go as fast as they want.

You watch some vid's and a short drive test.... as long as you don't hit the curb or back into anything you will be ok...

 

Head straight to your next stop.... Get a good ETA and then call them (your next stop) and see if they can move the appt for you. Don't depend on FM's (The weekenders are are the pits or at least the ones in Fontana) or C/S to do it. 99% of the time they will not even try.

 

Ask or FM when your assigned one. Most of the time, they will get you a load to get you home in that first week.

 

Klingon, I did tell lex that the w9 was too small, which is why we chose the 386 instead, and added all that chrome. I love driving a truck with a hood and switches, not an overgrown suv, but space is a must. I guess that is why we now have a house on wheels. So, ladyk, I understand the issue with the w9.

Anyway, we had similar issues when we upgraded with getting a working truck, even after they said all was good, and we never had a working bunk heater.

As far as going home, unless you are training in GA or CA, you must be home before the 60 day license expires, or it is all pointless. It takes some a while to get home though. We were within the last week of the license before we got home.

And about the speeding, our 386 had an issue with the speed sensor we weren't aware of for a while. It said it went 65, but it was really 70. The qualcomm only registered 65, because it too was using the faulty speed sensor. The freightshaker loaner we had would do 72, and we were never fussed at for it. We didn't alter the governor, we just went the speed limit where we could. In the almost 2 years we were never fussed at for our speed. And, if you own the truck, they were turning the trucks down because thie "insurance policy dictates the trailers will not be pulled at a speed in excess of 65."

 

I hear alot of people say good and bad things about Central, but being a Utah native I was thinking about joining up with them come the first of the year.

Just a few quick questions: I heard they pay really well, and keep you running. has that been the case as of late with the economy and all?


Also, do they push people running as a team or do they push L/O like I heard C.R. England does?


If you have any advice on anything else I would love to hear it.

I'm outside stop 3 now waiting and there closed. Hoping to be able to call 99 in morning to see if they can take early. I only have 2 pallets left on truck and don't want to sit till the 8th with empty trailer.

 

i wouldn't call the pay realy well but if you get a good dm and know how to to trip plan you can make money as a newbie. You get mesages on tghe qualcom about O/O but you can just ignore them if you want. They even have some dedicated that you have to be a company driver to sign up for don't know how they are but am looking into them.

 

The exception in Fontana is a young man named Herman. I always found him to be helpful and pleasant.
