Going with the OP's assertion that drivers are not making money... the trucking companies are doing drivers a favor by not providing them excess money with which to buy excess food!

I had 16yrs and said bye-bye... my bills are paid, drive a new truck... wife drives a newer car and all is good.. Driving is what you make of it.. good-luck and make the best of it

$200 a week??? #### I don't spend anywhere near that and I ain't a "broke" company driver. Even when I was a company driver I didn't spend that much. Seems to me someone needs to learn how to budget their money.

just finished my first week with a trainer he doesnt do the walmart thing like i plan on once i'm in my own truck. All together I have spent about $150 that includes food a flying J mug 3$ a couple of those little piggy banks with the states on them as a souvenir a carton of smokes 40$ as opposed to 89$ in Mass. I have a fridge micro and toaster and also a coffee maker waiting for me once I upgrade from training and you bet your ### my spending is getting kicked way down to about 40$ a wk. I also bought a headset 99$ for the phone but at the same time I'm not worried about it I'm definately not rich but I'm 22 live at home and have no kids so I don't sweat it so much. but once I get my own truck I definately will buckle down have a wedding to pay for in 2.5years
