And when you hire on with Schneider, you are told straight up, even if you are a regional driver....you can be dispatched to any of the lower 48.
If you are regional and there is just no freight in that region or the freight is slow, you want to sit and not make money or leave your region so get miles?
Some people are never happy, I tell ya, if they say you you would complain you get no miles. I meet plenty of drivers that complain about this or that but for some reason I don't have those problems, I wonder why??

I celebrate my 1st anniversary this month, at Schneider.
The ONE thing I have learned. Is to keep my mouth shut about miles LMAO.
I get all the miles I want, and then some. But it never fails I talk to at least one driver weekly...that complains about not getting enough miles.
What the hell do they want me to do ?? I'm a driver
not a load planner or DBL.

May she should buy her husband a Rig and plan his freight for him. She could probably "manage" him well, and then they would both be happy! Just a suggestion

Can't help but laugh at a regional freighhauler complaining about leaving their region. When they are likely not more than a day's drive from their home even though they are out of their region. It's a trucking company not a travel agency.

Whats the beef? you asked for documentation and I told you and the video says they have had 2200 million milers or higher work at pumpkin since 85. It's not hard to get that many at a company the size of pumpkin.
-
Really....there is no way for you to prove with 100% certainty the number of million milers ANY company has. And we can only accept the comments as true (I do) or not, based on the evidence at hand.
Here's the beef.
Many people on here (not all) are used to getting what they want when they want it. I suspect they're abusers and bullies at home as well.
And it ABSOLUTELY pisses them off, when you can't or won't do what they want....when they demand that you do it.
They're used to getting their way. And think you should comply with their demands. After all, you wouldn't even have a life if it wasn't for them.
And if you can't or won't comply with their demands. They instantly relegate you to "liar" status. Because you refuse to jump through hoops like their friends and family do.
So, like all "bullies" they're just getting their kicks the best way they can. Since you aren't giving them the opportunity to beat some sense into you.
In case you haven't noticed. I take great joy at antagonizing them. Since they obviously get so frustrated from not having anything to beat up....except their laptop.

Some may be doing that but you also have to realize that company's used to pay less ( don't know if they still do) to run a specific region versus 48. If they run you 48 at a regional rate then the driver has a reason to #####. And some are talking about not running in the region they where hired to run, not having to take a occasional load out of region.
You also have company's that are broken down into regions for load planning and dping. If you go out of region you run into the lets take care of are own and dick this guy from the other region mentality.
Some people like myself don't care what load they get but do care when they are told you will be getting punished for your team effort by spending a extra week on the road. Because we can't get you back into are sphere of influence.
Some truckers have homes and lives outside of trucking and don't take time off at the motel 6.BIGDADDYBEAR Thanks this. -

That's why you don't make the mistake of working for a huge national company that alledgedly has "regional" divisions because what do you think happens when they need a truck asap to move a load wherever and the only thing available is a "regional" truck? The freight has to move, it pays the company well, whatever.. And you signed up for it...
I ran as a company driver & o/o for over 10 years with a regional company, roughly 30 states give or take, that got the drivers home every weekend. Their customer base was such that it allowed them to easily do this. Their payscale was, in most cases, much better than the mega carriers running guys 4-5 weeks out in 48 states. If an oddball load that went across the country came up, drivers were not forced dispatched, they were asked if they wanted it.
It's just a matter of doing your homework before you hire on with somebody. -
I think the big beef is not about running out of the region if the freight demands it. Sometimes a load will take you out of the region your supposed to run in. Thats the nature of the industry. The beef is with a company that signs you up to run a region and then keeps you over half the time somewhere else. With me it was that I was supposed to run the South East and every week had loads to Ohio, PA, OK, TX etc. Thats what irked me. I got paid .41/mile so the pay had nothing to do with it.
