To ditto some earlier comments. Some male drivers are just perverts on wheels. I'd pack mace or a tazer for the winners out here for sure. What you see on "TV", forget it, no dice, all puffed up. I'd keep on your current course, trucking, in most countries, is only a couple steps up from a far eastern sweat shop. Best of luck though.

One word of caution, when I came out of the Army I had the new GI bill as well as some other things that would allow me to go to collage without working. I too wanted to drive a truck since I was little and said to myself, and my parents (hey I'll just drive a couple of years, than go to school) Well anyway that was 25 years ago and I still haven't been to school. I have few regrets, but, I wish I would have completed four years of collage first anyway. Trucking can be very addictive, and may change a lot about you and the way you live your life.
My advise would be get your degree first, than join us out here. Before you know it you will be my age and saying to your self, wow, where did it all go.
As far as the pervert flashing money at you. You will always have some men like that no matter where you are and what you do. Don't for one minute think all truck drivers are like that.

If you want to be in trucking you have to understand that male drivers do sometimes say stupid things, you just have to deal with it. I have been around the trucking business for a long time, it is no big deal really.

One time my friend and I were both parked at a truckstop waiting for loads, I was sitting in the passenger seat of his truck talking to him for a while and when I got out some idiot says over the radio to my friend, "Hey dude, was she expensive"

we both just laughed about it.
