What a joke, 154k is usually net with some michigan sleds.
Without giving away too much......It's so easy to cheat axle scales with air ride.
They don't pull more over because it's too much work, did you see the size of some of those cops? No way they're sliding under 11 axles when your 350#
-
Yeah the one guy looked out of breath just walking back and forth to write the paperwork
-
All truck drivers are rich and should have no problem paying a well deserved fine

My thoughts exactly, you know how dangerous it is to have more than 13k on a trailer axle in MI?
-
In a few years this is what truckers will be saying to the DOT.

Aw come on man, it's all about safety. Thankfully A friend of mine got pulled behind the scales in MI. He could have killed thousands of people with that cab light he had out.

I'm not saying we don't need truck inspections. It just seems the cops are lazy and always pick the "easy" ones. How many times do you see the REALLY ratty ones being inspected (i.e anything with "Northern Steel Transport" on the side)? Last inspection I had (that didn't go well) the inspector informed me he doesn't crawl under trucks if it's raining. I guess safety is only important if it doesn't inconvenience him. I want to see the DOT inspector do a full inspection on a loaded cattle trailer on a hot day! Go ahead big boy crawl under there and check those brakes, oh and don't let it drip in your mouth.

freebirdrfd Thanks this. -
Consider this, if we all go e-log then the DOT will have to focus more on inspections in order to show they are doing their job and putting trucks OOS.TachItUp Thanks this.

They can put the e-logs in the same bodily orifice as the paper logs.

You guys should saddle up and pull some of these sleds before you bash on them. Those trailers carry the weight on 11 sets of brakes and trust me after pulling them for almost 8 years ( up until switching to the ltl industry in the last year and a half) they stop a hell of a lot better than an 80 k dry van. Also, just about every state allows 20 k on a single axle so the 18k allowed on a multi axle spread is hardly dangerous.
