Ah, finally someone answered his question instead of turning it into a personal rant about being done wrong by a less experienced driver. :biggrin_25514:

I'm interested in dry van, reefer, and tanker. Tanker probably once I have enough experience though.

Watkins Shepard will send you out solo after orientation BUT you better know how to drive or they'll send you home from orientation....

I subscribe to a couple of construction industry magazines . Equipment sales are up as well as construction rental business . You might be able to find local construction work driving truck or operating heavy equipment . Most contractors on federal jobs are required to give paid training to a certain percentage of employees .

Well, I went ahead and called all the "Training Wheel" companies that I can get into from my area. It seems Schneider is the winner with the least amount of time out with a trainer, but 29cpm seems low for starting wage as a trucker....I could be wrong. Anyways after next month I'll be giving the pumpkin truck people a call and get squared away unless there is something else comes up. Until then thanks for all the info you've given will keep checking post for updates. :biggrin_1square2:
