Got CDL from local company but seem to lack experience for OTR companies.

Hi. I am new to this site but found it the other day and think its great alot of info. And I know I am asking the same thing as about a 100 other threads but I dont know how dated they are so here goes.

I got my CDL a while back from a local beverage company. I did not go to a school however just got my permit hopped in their trucks drove for a while took my test, passed and worked for them for 8 monthes driving. Another job came up better pay and so on. It #$%@&$% sucks I should have stayed with driving. But I dont really want to go back with them because it was just local and thats not what I want to do, I want to try OTR.

Well checking into companies like Werner, Schneider, Roehl, Cr England (i have already ruled this one out) Transport America, and others I have sort of decided Roehl sounds like a good choice. My question is I have only local experience, 8 monthes of it, and if I go to Roehl I would have to go through their school even though I already have my cdl. Now would this be worth it to me or should I keep looking. Also should there be another company to look into that might be better or suit my needs better.

So the school would be a good thing huh. Its sounds like from all I have heard Roehl is a decent company do you think they would be good to go for or do you have any other suggestions.
