Where did you park the truck when you went home?

Did you get permission to leave truck to attend family emergency?

Its illegal to move the truck if you are out of hours! OK, you are out of hours, try to drive the 10 miles to the truckstop and get in a wreck, how much trouble do you want?

You knew they had 62mph trucks with small sleepers and used e-logs and this is only a problem now after you were fired?

You screwed up, got caught, got fired. None of what you said is a company problem, nothing.

Yep I'm the idiot(?) I think most drivers research a company about the type of trucks and if a they use elogs, but hey thats just me. If you had permission to leave the truck and you left it where they told you to and they still dinged you on your DAC then there is more to this story that we ain't hearing. It only took you 3 posts to reduce yourself to 3rd grade name calling, there's a clue.

    Good luck.

Maybe he did leave it where he was told to. But maybe he didn't go back to get it when he agreed to. I know how these family things go. Starts out as three days and somehow stretches into a week. However, if the O/P didn't keep the company updated, they would consider it quitting without taking the equipment back to the terminal. That is the definition of abandoning equipment.

So they're a bad company because they have governed trucks, expect you to follow the HOS, and when you left for an emergency they let you go?

How long did you work there?

The OP dropped the truck went home for family leave and did not come back. The company dinged for abandonment because where he left truck for leave and were you turn in truck are to different locations.

Of course this is all speculation but seems as good a scenario as any.:biggrin_255:

My speculation goes more like this, driver parked the truck where he had permission, went on leave. Notified the company from CA, didn't meet the criteria for leave, and the fact that they were notified after he had taken leave didn't sit well with them. Probably had something like a 3 day no call/no show policy and termed the driver, then recovered the truck and DAC'd him out.
