While I have little good to say about Marten Transport, I have been able to get reimbursed for scale tickets, they always paid lumper fees, they have paid detention and layover pay and I did get reimbursed for a motels twice when the truck was in the shop overnight. I just had to make sure I contacted the right person, got a po and went through the appropriate channels. Though if you are an experienced driver, I strongly suggest you seek employment elsewhere. If you are an inexperienced driver and Marten hires you out of a driving, be very careful because Marten Transport will ruin your career in an instant. Once one of the top companies to work for, it is now one of the worse companies to work for since the original owner, Randy Marten's father, has passed away. Since that time, Marten has experienced a loss of nearly all of its experienced senior drivers.

Ah crap. That just seems to be the way this industry goes. How many companies have we seen this with? It's really sad. I man works his arse off to build up a good company, build a good life for his family, and leave something tangible for his kids. Who promptly run it into the ground just as quick as they can, once they have taken over.:biggrin_25513:

They only reimburse you for scale purchases if the load is more than 42000 lbs. That is not good

They sound really crappy as a company. Sounds like desk weights and number jockeys are running it in the ground. Truly a shame what's happening to the trucking industry. Maybe if the drivers especially company driver. Would have stood up and fought back. Then things in the industry would be better. But, noooo! Instead. All we have now is cowardly take it up the butt drivers. Because they are to dumb which makes them easy pray for companies to terrorize them. So they do nothing hoping and trusting people that don't care and has more respect for the dog crap on the bottom of there shoes. Then they do truck drivers. So drivers end up living in fear. And only have there selves to blame for the industry wide problems and there poor incomes and life styles.
