I dont want elogs. And i dont like the idea of having to carry hundreds of dollars in cash for tolls :biggrin_25511:

I can deal with tarps, i can deal with all 48 states, i can deal with not haveing prepass, i can deal with a 65mph truck, i can even deal with the super singles they have on some trucks and trailers, but E-Logs i dont think i can deal with.

If you cant deal with elogs its because you like to cheat... or your just scared of the myths out there. I run elogs and I love them, in fact, I prefer them. Once you learn them, like anything else, they are great...that is unless you are an outlaw and if you are, your days are numbered anyway, so which is it brother? LOL Why would you have to carry so much for tolls? skip toll roads, I do and I don't have a problem... come on AT, make the jump, 42cpm is great for a young guy like yourself, I didn't get that when I swapped over to flatbedding..

its not about cheating, its when you have 30 extra minutes to get to the TS and you run into traffic/construction/accident and you get to the truck stop 2 minutes over your 11. Thats NOT a safety issue, thats not a paper log issue, but on E-Logs you now have a log violation viewable to you, your employer, AND the DOT:biggrin_2551: Screw that

I hear ya AT and that problem does happen from time to time... I myself, plan my trips better now than I ever did with paper logs and avoid that problem. If by chance, the problem does accur, I simply add a note to the log, describing the traffic backup and let my FM know. After 7 days, it is gone from DOT's view and I don't worry anyway.

noteing a log violation isnt going to make it disapear, and im sure DOT can see more then 7 days if they want. At the very least in an Audit you and your employer would be screwed since they can legaly change your logs...

Also since USX has been on elogs for a while they may have it worked out to work for them and then again USX also has never been an outlaw company.

Lone Star is new to them, still dont have any yet, and i can only imagin the shock its going to put them into when haveing to work around the HOS and not have the drivers make it work. If you look at their CSA score their scores are very low, but if you look at what little log violations they have they are all violations that would accur when trying to make a run work, or maximize their hours.

I would LOVE to try them out, but i donno about them logs lol, i would probably end up ripping the #### thing out and throwing it out the window, not sure that would go over well lol

Anderson leases trucks, and puts company drivers in columbias, and even their lease Op's are governed at 62 :biggrin_2559: No thanks

Builders transport i havent looked at in a few years, i'll have to check them out again.

Boyed brothers, 62mph sheet spreaders, and they like to tarp EVERYTHING lol.

I know i'm being a little picky but i work for a good company now, im not going to leave to have a dispacher in a cubicle telling me what to do every 3 seconds, or drive a worse truck then i have now, been doing this too long to get into a POS again.

the one good thing i've seen about these big fb companies is they get you home most weekends, but between slow trucks, e-logs, accesive tarping, etc i dont see how i'll make more then i do now or be getting a better job out of the switch.

Another problem i have is trying to find a good company that will train me to fb. Most of the good ones want at least 6 months exp with a fb.

I went with McElroy straight out of school and I can honestly say I don't have anything bad to say about 'em so far. Paper logs, home weekends, 40cpm starting pay. I've been solo with them for 3 months and my slowest week so far was 1650 miles.

Now we do trap pretty much everything, (not nearly as bad as people make it out to be) and our new ProStars (which I'm not in yet) only go 62, my truck now runs 65. But honestly our runs on a day to day basis are typically short enough as not to need much faster than that. That's my 2 cents worth.
