    Ill keep that in mind if I ever get into hauling those. Im still learning so...Do yall cross chain um?

    It kinda depends...

    Its best to if you can (anything with wheels or tracks), but sometimes you can't because something is in the way.

    With the combines with no wheels on them...usually you just wrap around the axles.

    Thats what I thought. Ive hauled a container, tallest thing Ive hauled so far, that was cross chained. Was not happy when I found out what was in it.... Full of... glass. How is it pulling that lowboy trailer?

    You really shouldn't cross chain containers...I know lots of people do, but thats not the best way to do it because if one chain breaks, it can and will fall off the trailer...chains do break, binders too...

    Chain them at the bottom on the front and back, both sides, pulling to the front with the rear chain and to the rear with the front chain (squeezing it)...and put a few straps or chains over the top..

    I was told to cross chain it so I did... Top AND bottom lol Also had 4 straps over it. Wasnt taking any chances of it moving, at all. Was told the state of Texas wanted it cross chained at the top, which was a pain.

    I hauled a lot of containers when I pulled a step deck, many of them were in TX...I've never heard of any such requirement (cross chains) on them.

    I wasnt told it was a requirement, just thats how they "liked" it. I had 8 chains on it lol It was my first container and Im still new at this so... I had 30 days of flatbed training before I got my own truck. We never hauled a container. I didnt even know we did containers lol Im still learning how to best secure all this stuff

    Understood...what I stated above is the way Maverick wants them secured...but its the way I secured them even before I came to Maverick.

    Its easier than cross chaining...and better.

    Its basically just 2 trip chains...one in front and one in back, and a few straps or chains over the top...any one of them can break and the container is still secure.

    But if its the front chain that breaks, ya might not wanna get on the brakes too hard.

    LOL Understood. I had 4 chains on the front and 4 on the back. I was just being very extra careful. I try to be easy on my brakes anyway lol Prime wants it cross chained, so thats how I do it. Not a requirement to put 8 on it, but better safe than sorry.

    Never mind...just having a bad week, or 2.

    Still though...I don't think its asking too much when I expect to be shown some respect by these "customers".
