Shake it off. I've messed up too, most have. While yes your record doesn't appear to be very clean your MVR from what it sounds like only probably has the stop sign if you even got officially busted for that (and if you started with a clean record). It's not over, maybe just with the mega carriers which may not be a bad thing anyway.

Find a small carrier and a mentor to work with for a few months..You have to pay attention. If you are having a bad day its better to park it and cool off.. PAY ATTENTION

I know how that 10'1" spread can be in those tight areas. I had to use the curb and HALF the sidewalk in queens one day. Glad i was empty.

To the op. Like others had said, try to get on a team with a good experenced driver. Sounded like your trainer wasnt the best. Slow down, pay attention and get out and look if your not sure. It not a race no matter what your dispatcher says. Id rather be late n safe than not there at all cause i hit something and damaged equipment or hit someone and be in deep poopie.

I just wanted to thank those drivers who actually tried to HELP the OP. I can understand curbing it, Ive done it many times. Sometimes there is no other choice, trailer wont fit on the road. The trailer door... Not sure of the full story, but GOAL is a good idea. Im also an inexperienced driver, got my CDL in June. Ive got somewhere north of 30,000 miles driven right now. Ive never hit anything, and will continue to be careful not to. I went through a lot of training before bein turned loose. Been solo for just over 2 weeks now. I was on the reefer side in training, then switched to flatbed. Driving the spread axle is harder. With a 10'2" spread, that front axle seems to like to find curbs... Its hard out there, a lot can go wrong. Just got to watch out for what your doing and where your going. The stop sign.... I can understand not seeing it... but running it over too?.... lol If they didnt want it run over, they shouldntve put it so close to the road...

Safety guy at the mega I used to work for told me if it costs the company, they call it an accident. No such thing as an incident anymore.

Sometimes telling a driver to get out of the truck is helping. He has no business being in a truck. Not bring a smart-##*. Just telling the truth.
