Hi everyone. Hopefully I'm not posting questions anyone has already asked. If so, please direct me-it is likely I simply missed the thread!
I am a female prospective driver in the process of getting my CDL. I will be completing the training (as long as things flow smoothly) in Colorado, but am looking to find a company based out of Virginia. I don't mind so much about home time, as I have no children or spouse yet. I would be open to just about anything, as long I'm mainly only driving. I'm open to team driving, solo (but with the ability to have a pet), but understand since I'm new it will be tough getting the "better" positions.
I want to bang it out for about 5 years to get some things paid off and save a little money. My focus is work efficiency, not time off.
The next big question is, of the companies based out of Virginia, even Maryland/DC area, how are you all liking them? Or not liking them? I have been going through the posts, but there is a lot of small talk to sift through. Just new to this world, and looking for some direction and wisdom from the rest of you before I make any dreadful decisions I will regret later!
I realize their are pros and cons to working for every company, but I'm looking for a company (as is everyone else) that isn't going to lie to me about mileage, money, etc. If I'm not going to make a lot, that's fine, especially if the retention rate for the company is good, etc.
Again, please feel free to point me in the direction of another thread, or to message me!

agreed. nothin like the wide open spaces out there.

If you want wide open spaces, you could include the western half of Kansas, OK and TX panhandles. There so wide open the tumble weeds are scarce..
