I read through the TA site that USA Truck wasn't interested in negotiation talks with Celadon. I guess they'll just wait for USA to sink themselves and then swoop down and pick 'em up for cheap.
I hope Celadon remains an experienced driver only company. I would be sad if they started taking on students and doing the whole training thing.lil may Thanks this. -
Celadon did not buy out FFE, FFE sold some if it's dry van assets to Celadon and Con way. FFE is just focusing on the refrigerated aspect of the company.

I heard this rumor was in the works when I worked there almost 2 years ago.
Funny reading the Wall Street apraisal of USA truck. "poor profit margins"? You ain't kidding. That's what you get for pulling cut-rate freight. I'm sure the first thing the new management will do is raise rates and cut pay.
Works everytime don'tcha know?
(I could see the "poor operating capital" too, as they would constantly refuse almost any request for roadside assistance and insist on getting the unit to the nearest terminal,,, so if you had to pull a non DOT compliant trailer across 5 states to get a brake job, well,,, it wasn't like you were going to stop en-route, right?) -
Celadon really seems to have been at it lately. Drivers in the smaller bottom feeder companies are probably biting their nails right now. I remember when they bought out the van division of PFT, they were routing PFT drivers through Richmond and canning them on the spot.
