Better yet, get a Smartphone. Apple or Android, I don't think it matters. I have an Android so I'll refer to that.

There's a free app on the Market called "Phone Recorder" that does just that - in the background and nobody but you knows it's there. Reasonable quality digitized voice audio of both sides of the conversation, date and time-stamped, and stored with all your pictures and documents.

If you want you can start your conversations with, "This conversation is being recorded for quality control purposes." Just like they do at large customer services outfits. But this time the quality you're controlling is that of whoever is telling you to do something illegal.

You never know, they might ignore your warning (thinking it's a joke, ha ha) and tell you to do the illegal stuff anyhow.

Oops. Now you have admissible evidence.
