You might grow gills. I remember the algae craze back in the 80's. You'd think it would of taken off by now. Now they are creating ways to use it as alternative fuel.

Well. It sounds like a great diet plan to me. As long as you're bulimic. Got better things to do with my tonsils than a technicolor yawn.

there was an earlier mention of other jobs like dishwahers and janitors. btdt. woked for better then average pay for the area, in fact still at the same place. there is no way i can support my family on this income. I make just under 20k a year. have to donate ( sell) plasma to pay electric. so I am looking into driving. I have worked for non cdl driving jobs ( 27 foot box truck 25,995 gvw) ( driving rail road crews around the state) I am looking into driving for several reason. 1. like to drive 2. need to get outta the house more 3. need a paycheck that actually is going to handle the bills. I dont have to purchase food now cause i work at a hotel that feeds us for a dollar. but after looking at grocery prices i can feed myself fairly well for under 100 bucks a week. that includes a breakfast and dinner at a truck stop. driving is stressful but at the same time for me relaxing when not in city traffic. I have been on this forum for a couple months before i registered. If my income is dependant on how hard i work that is not a problem, i dont mind hard work. If i get paid the same as the guy with the same experence that is cool cause my paycheck is based on how hard i work. If i run hard i make more, if is sit in a ts then i dont make money. I am not delusional to think there are not going to be slow times, heck this last year has been slow for my job. I dont know if i can run a team prefer to do solo when done training. but have to see might change my mind down the road.

As far as eating algae, I used to go down to the beach and pick sea lettuce. It is an edible species of algae and a very tasty addition to miso soup and some fish dishes. It is an excellent source of iron and other trace minerals.

But, like mushrooms, you better know what you're picking before you eat it.

Just be advised how hard you run isn't up to you . It depends on what loads are available and what your dispatcher feels like giving you . Most drivers sitting around in truckstops aren't there by choice .

I like the Atkins or S.Beach diet, Fruits and nuts the morning, veggies for lunch and 3oz lean protein at dinner. Eat foods high in fiber. Stay off refined sugar and starch. Walk 1 mile per day. keep your calories below 2000 and you will loose 1-2 lbs per week. Drink lots of water. unsweetened tea with lemon for caffeine. Work smart not hard - stress causes the body to store fat. Cheap snacks, salty foods, soda pops and candies will add pounds and slow the metabolism and leads to diabetes and CHD (congestive heart disease). when at McD, order a wrap or salad and hold the fried foods. Steer clear of calories from fat like oil from corn and soybeans use olive oil and vinegar to replace mayo. Spices are good alternative to salt (mrs dash salt free).

We are what we eat! Food processing companies have designed foods which are cheap and addictive. 50% of U.S. foods are processed with junk that will send you screaming for a heart bypass one day. Nitrites and Sodium in processed meats like bacon and sausage can actually kill.
