Here we go... I pulled the plug with the help of my friendly Prime recruiter and I start class November 29, 2011. It's been a long, and at times, a difficult journey to get to this decision. Just ask DD. If you are married like I am (30 yrs) you do a lot of soul searching before making this decision. I feel for those contemplating a trucking career especially if you have young children at home. Fortunately, my daughter is grown and in the Navy.
If I get past the physical at Prime there's nobody's fault but mine if I don't make it through the course and on to an "A" seat. If I last, I should get plenty of SNOW practice between now and spring. <100 watt grin>
If I have a senior moment with stupid questions, please forgive me in advance. I'm going to need all of you, my extended Prime family, to make this transition a success .
If I'm not on the forum during training I can be found at Twitter and FourSquare as @GSWx or http://saf.li/c7bfm
Thanks...
Zeke

I have the same start date as you. I am always happy to hear when folks take positive steps to bettering their health. It is also great when you have positive reinforcement at home backing you up with your new decision on a new life path. I look forward to meeting you at Prime.
GSWx Thanks this. -
Welcome shouts the prime express and hold on its going to be ride. When you feel discouraged just remember everything comes to an end and so do bad days. Most important have fun. Need any help or have a question pm me always glad to help a fellow primer.

Yeah, if my bitter half, oops better half wasn't in total agreement I would be staying home. I'm looking forward to getting started at Prime and learning all I can. I will need to find a non-smoker as an instructor or perhaps they will find me. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Drinks are on me... water, coffee, cola etc.

Wearing my positive attitude and can do hat. I'll be the first to take you up on the offer to help. Thanks!

You put on your big girl panties!

Seriously, all you gotta do is put out the question. These guys are more than happy to help. Me, I'm just the cheerleader w/ the defensive tackle body shape. Ok, maybe not THAT bad. (I can already feel JCW getting ready to smack me in the back of the head when he reads this.)
Also, if you need ideas for cheap eats? I'm the QUEEN. You guys spend more in WM for a week for one dude than I do for the whole famdamily.Mudrunner Thanks this. -
To put it bluntly I'm not wearing any panties. Oops again, wrong forum.

I'm not one for eating at a truck stop or other greasy spoons. I eat mainly fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts, and only drink spring water or strong black coffee. My meal expenses on the road hopefully will be about the same as being home. I spend $50-70 per week on my supplies. Believe me, I will eat meat now and then if there's a Ruth Chris or other fine steak/chop house in the 'hood. I doubt I'll be seeing any of those with truck parking
Thanks for the penny-pinching offer.

I just got my new C.P.A.P. machine. My old one didn't have the card in it. I all ready have a refer and microwave. The state is going to help me get back into driving. Once I get back on the road I will be hitting you up on the cheap eats. Don't want to do the truck stop food again. Last time I did I lost my trucking biz, Tractor and trailer.
