Pet policy is: None! Nada! Nyet!
Stevens home time policy is one day for each week out, home every 5-6 weeks.
If you go on the Alliance side, you may get home more often

Have a question, I was wondering if Stevens has any type of refresher program? I have out of trucking for 3 years and want to get back into it and was considering Stevens. I would like to go out with a trainer for a couple of weeks even though I have 2 years OTR experience but its been awhile. Anybody have any idea? Thx
-
Stevens does not have a refresher course... but with an experienced driver, the time out with a trainer may be shortened on a case by case evaluation.zyk285 Thanks this.

Can I ask a question here about Stevens. You may or may not know, but the website doesn't seem to show what I want to know, and I forgot to ask the person I interviewed with today the details. What is the starting pay for new drivers with no experience for refer OTR? Also, what is the most typical company truck. I see they say T2000, but do they also run the 660's for company trucks? Thanks.
I've been approved for hire, and have a job there whenever I make my final decision. I have another company lined up that I am also highly considering. Thanks again. -
Starting pay is $350 per week while in training. then 26 cents per mile, HHG miles. (shortest route miles)
Typical truck, is the kenworth t2000 which is being phases out, and replaced with the kenwoth t700. A few t660's and pete 389's too. And then there are a few freightliner cascadias.
660's went to lease operators first, but after 300,000 miles the truck is converted to a company truck until it is sold with around 500,000 miles. -
What is a good company to start out with, just out of school 11/04/2011 what about Star, Werner, who I hear bad about all, are they just winers?? confused
-
theres tons of threads on here about each company, both good and bad. what fits for one person might not fit for you. Just read thru the forums and get an idea of what you are looking for and then start comparing companiesTLeaHeart Thanks this.

The choice of company depends on where you live the companies hiring area and your home time desires. Almost all OTR want 3 to 5 weeks out before going home. It wil also depend on your attitude and your expectations of what the company will provide. Ask lots of questions of drivers and recruiters. Starting out keep your nose clean avoid accidents and tickets. After a year or two your choice of companies to work for increases.

I run for star and I'm looking elsewhere. I have the experience and I refuse to work for any company that I can't gross at least a grand a wk. Away from home too ? Watch these crooks who only seek to mistreat you then smile in your face. Know your value drivers !
