Hi there. I am going to be graduating from Valley trucking School's long haul program and will be having my road test on December 6th. I am vigorously looking for jobs right now and am looking for a few specific things., I understand that as a new driver getting a solo job will be difficult, but I am wanting a solo job if I can get one. My driving in school has been great and I have had an incredible instructor. My instructor feels that I am very skilled in my upshifting and downshifting. I have an uncle who is an owner operator in the US and he has been my mentor and had taught me alot about the mechanics of the truck. Ok, so let me tell you a little about me. I am a dual citizen of Canada and the US and have no criminal history. I have a clean abstract for well over 5 years and have nothing that would keep me from staying out on the road for long periods of time. In fact, I am looking to stay out driving with the bare minimum of time off throughout my time working. I am hoping to save save save. I am a well kept individual with good people skills and am not afraid of bad weather. In fact, there isn't much out there that would frighten me. I am really looking hard for a solo job, that is a job where I won't have to drive team right away. I am hoping for the job to keep me south of the border as much as possible also as I want to take advantage of my dual status. I am hoping for a job that I can keep for a long time and want to be a very helpful part of the fleet. If you are in Western Canada and have a job opening that you feel would be perfect for me, and you need an Canadian/American in your fleet, please do leave me a message. I look forward to your replies.![]()

Yada yada
Send a proper resume to any oilfield service company going between n Dakota and sask / Alberta and you will get hired.
Btw nobody will care about your abstract before your class 1. And your shifting skills are about as noteworthy as tying your shoe laces ... People will only care or notice if you can't do it properlyDharok Thanks this. -
Do you know of any companies by name that I could send my resume to. I am very actively seeking employment. I would prefer driving solo and would like to drive deep into the US as much as possible. I am hoping my dual citizenship will help me. Thanks.

If you want to do flatdeck I know can-am out of abbotsford will train newbies. They do some stateside running. Don't expect the greatest pay starting out though...

Thanks Nate. I will give them a try. I am willing to do flat decks most definitely. Thanks. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Here is an ad I recently placed on a trucking job posting board.
Hi there. I am a dual citizen of Canada and the US and have no criminal history with a sparkling clean drivers abstract. I am very much wanting to find a solo long haul job that will keep me out on the road as much as possible and I would preferably like as many runs south of the border as possible. I am a new CDL holder (will actually be getting my CDL on December 6th) and have been trained at Valley Trucking School in the long haul program. Everyone needs to get hired to start off they're career and I am hoping that a good company will take a chance on me so I can get started with my dream. I am a clean and well kept individual a with good communication skills and come from a family of truckers. My uncle has a degree in diesel engine mechanics and is an owner operator south of the border. He and I talk each day and he has been my mentor. If you are willing to take a chance on a new driver who is willing to work incredibly hard I would be very thankful.
I am really praying that a good opportunity comes my way. If anyone has anymore information on companies to look into or if anyone works in the hiring department at a company and see's this, I would be thrilled to hear from you. Then, once I am out on the road I can start sharing my road stories on this great site and join in the fun. -
