While I agree that unsafe vehicles and drivers should be taken off the road, this article is a bit inflammatory.
5,200 trucks have been shut down? Out of how many inspected? Out of how many truck miles driven?
I'll be there were hundreds of thousands of trucks that were just fine in Tennesee this year.

I do know that the N 65 (mm 119?) weigh station has had a lot of extra inspectors there at times thru out the year.

snatched keys? I have been shut down 3 times. Once for falsifying my log book (ME), Once for a trailer with a tire that had low air pressure(CA), And once for overweight/overlength(NE). And never once did they take my keys. ME just said I had to wait 10 hours. NE said I had to remove my tailgate and excess weight, CA said I had to repair the tire. I dont think they take keys from you?

And since that info is incorrect how much of the other info is also incorrect?

Thinkin the article was to make the general public feel all warm & fuzzy that their tax dollars are being spent to protect them.

Kind of like the first comment too...

"I think you forgot to mention the dagerous cars and those drivers. the one's with plastic bag windows smashed up front or rear ends or the ones looking in their lap texting. speeding up cutting off trucks so they can exit the highway or get ahead of the truck and slam on their brakes cause there was not enough room. How about you do a segment on the ragged out and dangerous cars."

    Rollover the Original Thanks this.
