Hey Sarge, I know what you mean by all the factors involved in good mpg, but sometimes nothing will help but stopping. I left out of Madison the other day, too. Were you the one with the nerf? I had routine service done including an ECM reprogram.
Leaving Madison I haven't gotten above 6 mpg yet. Dropping to 55 mph, going manual, feathering the pedal for hills, etc. was all I could do just to get close to 6. And now my dashboard is beeping incessantly just like it did three weeks ago when it stranded me in NH. The headwind was just too strong. My rolling average this quarter is 7.4...well, not anymore.
The beeping ain't causing the problem. I know what it is. The tranny is having gear selection issues that I've worked around until after Thanksgiving. I dread getting stranded again. I've seen my wife once since I received my first pro# 5 weeks ago.
I'm hung out again this weekend heading to Texas instead of Illinois. Found a good wind forecaster and it showed strong headwinds coming for me all the way from the consignee. So, I parked it and took my 34 hour right here. I'll leave in the morning when the winds are better. I gotta bring that number up. 90 gallons of fuel this tank at 5.97 is going to hurt. I'll be the talk of Ch 19 for two weeks pedalling the truck back up the scale. Sometimes the best way to raise your fuel mileage is to just stop...if you have the option.

I do not know how much more good will there can be than for a group of strangers all around the world to stop what they are doing and to go before The King Of Kings...on behalf of someone that they will probably never meet on this earth...and earnestly pray...just because they asked them to.
I do not think you can improve on this Token Of Good Will! -
Sorry to hear about the deer mishap Jim. I've said it once and I'll say it again I think you would be a great trainer. Drive safe and enjoy the ride.

Welcome to maverick, sparkn and ravister. Glad to see some new blood on the board. Hope you guys enjoyed maverick as much as I do. Drive safe and enjoy the ride.
ravister Thanks this. -
Thanks! Just wish it would have happened with the old truck...but not much damage when you consider how much could have been done! -
Maverick now has everything for me to return to work. I have to be at the training building next Monday at 0900 to take the "Return to Work" abilities test.

Happy Thanksgiving!! To all current and soon to be Maverick drivers.
