    Not these ones... they're just knee-cappers. The top of them is below the level that the hood reaches when opened.

    They fold. There are 2 cotter pins that need to be removed, and they move about a foot forward to allow the hood to open.

    Ah! They appeared to be low enough to not need that when I took a glance at them. I'm not sure that they offer enough advantage to really be worth it IMO. I suppose that I'd want to see the result of an impact against one of them before making a decision. The larger "MooseKillers" would seem to make more sense to me, albeit at a greater penalty in front-end weight.

    Don said at the safety meeting last Friday that they already have had a few deer hits with trucks that thad them, and in all cases there was no damage to the truck.

    Anyone having trouble with losing the pins? JCW spoke to a driver in LR this am, who has replaced them twice, and is currently using padlocks.
